Dr. Joe Montgomery, B. Sc., M. Sc. Ph.D. (Geology), P. Eng. The president of Montgomery Consulting Ltd., Dr. Joe Montgomery has forged a reputation as one of the worlds leading exploration geologists and mining engineers during his illustrious forty-year career. Dr. Montgomery's opinion is one of the most respected in world mining circles. Dr. Montgomery obtained his Ph.D. in Geology at Queen's University (Ontario) and P. Eng from the University of British Columbia. Dr. Montgomery operates his own consulting firm which for several decades has engaged in mining exploration, property evaluation, property development, syndicate management, ore reserve estimates and computer application in the mining industry. His Clients have included many major and junior mining companies, Canadian federal and provincial governments and the United Nations. Previously he was Vice President, Geology for Nim Management Ltd where he was solely responsible for property evaluations for dispensing over $750 million in exploration funds. Previously he was the Co manager of the Meridian Exploration Syndicate (including Noranda, Canex Placer, Homestake, and Home Oil); where he evaluated grass roots mining exploration programs in B.C., Yukon and western United States. Dr. Montgomery is the author of numerous peer-reviewed geological papers Dr. Montgomery has been extensively involved in the preparation of mining engineering reports. He has personally authored over 300 Engineering Reports for clients for submittal to various review bodies. The reports have covered precious metals, base metals, industrial minerals and gemstones and have ranged over North America (Canada, U.S.A. and Mexico); South America (Peru, Chile, Colombia, Bolivia, Brazil, Guyana), Asia (China, Russia, Ukraine, Lao), Africa (Uganda) and Australia and Fiji. A great deal of work has also been done in the evaluation of mineral projects for financial institutions considering investment. His diverse clientele has included federal, state and provincial governments as well as most major mining companies. He has also served as a director and officer of several successful mining companies. Exceptionally well-regarded in the metals and minerals exploration industry, Dr. Montgomery was recently involved in the direct review and examination of several high-level uranium properties in the US and has been responsible for authoring several significant and authoritative reviews of these properties.
